Annual Meeting is Sunday, August 4… Join us for a day of festivities in Orland and at our new office in Bucksport!

Sunday morning, lace up your boots for a hike up Great Pond Mountain to celebrate our progress on the To the Summit! campaign. Both a long (4.5-mile) and short (2-mile or less) hike will be offered. To join the longer hike, meet at 8:30 am at Craig Brook Nat’l Fish Hatchery and we’ll walk the Dead River Trail to Gold Brook Trail, enjoying expansive views of the Dead River before hooking up with the Mountain Trail. The short hike will meet at the hatchery at 9 am and carpool to the Stuart Gross Path trailhead. Both groups will meet at a viewpoint on the mountain’s western ridge for blueberry muffins, before either proceeding on to the summit or stopping to admire the Hay Ledges before returning to the cars.

Sunday evening at 5 pm, join our annual meeting and picnic on the rolling, riverfront lawn at our office at 155 Lower Main Street in Bucksport (between McDonald’s and Roland Grindle Insurance). BYO adult beverage and picnic supper, and a potluck dessert to share. We’ll provide coffee, iced tea and soft drinks. Chairs and tables will be available, but bring a blanket or lawn chair if you can to enjoy the great Penobscot River view. Parking is available at Roland Grindle Insurance or Ocean’s Edge Realty on either side of us.For more information email info@greatpondtrust.org or call (207) 469-6929.
