BAR HARBOR, ME—College of the Atlantic presents Gang of Thieves, a high-energy rock band hailing from Burlington, VT, in Gates Community Center at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. The cost is $10, collected at the door.
The intense rock energy of Gang of Thieves has been compared to Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam, and praised for its fast-paced rhythms, quirky guitar riffs, and vocals infused with hip-hop. According to Sarah Ruggiero writing for the national music publication The Deli Magazine, “…they put on the type of live show at which even the most adamantly stand-still-with-arms-crossed folks in the crowd won’t be able to resist some sort of rhythmic movement.”
The band was founded in 2009. By 2011, Gang of Thieves was pronounced Vermont’s “Best Band” by the New England Music Awards. Members include vocalist Michael Reit, guitarists Nick Wood and Lenny Sokol, bassist Tobin Salas, and Deven Massarone on drums.
For more on the Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. performance of Gang of Thieves in COA’s Gates Community Center, contact Lauren Rupp at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-288-5015. Admission is $10 at the door.
