What’s that you say? The temperatures are dropping and you’re already peering outside your window, looking for the first signs of spring? Not so fast. True, winter means snowstorms, bone-chilling winds, shoveling, icy roads, hazardous driving and a lot of other things we’d all rather forget.

But winter also brings opportunities for a wide array of great outdoor activities, including a traditional favorite—ice-skating. As part of Frost Fest, an old-fashioned ice-skating party will be at the ice-skating rink on Miles Lane in Bucksport. This event will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18. Enjoy a fun party atmosphere with great music and free public skating. Refreshments will be available for sale, and any donations will benefit the Bucksport Recreation Department and the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
