Southwest Harbor Public Library is pleased to offer tax aid through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aid program. This service is free to taxpayers with low and moderate income and is offered in cooperation with the IRS. These trained volunteers help taxpayers receive all applicable tax credits and deductions. All tax help is confidential. Tax help at the Library will be offered Fridays, February 14 & 28 and March 14 & 28.

An option tax payers will be offered again this year is an income tax check-off for the Maine Public Library Fund, found on the Charitable Contributions section of the Maine State Tax Form. Last year this fund brought in $14,000 for support to public libraries in Maine. When filing your returns, please consider contributing to this fund – all Maine public libraries will benefit!

For more information about tax help or the Maine Public Library Fund, please call the Library, 244-7065.
