Based on Christopher Isherwood’s “The Berlin Stories”, CABARET was the winner of 8 Academy Awards in 1973. Directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse, the story follows British academic Brian Roberts (Michael York), American showgirl Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) and others through “divinely decadent” pre-WWII Berlin. Fritz Wepper, Joel Grey, Maria Berenson, and Helmut Greim co-star as denizens of Germany during the rise of Hitler’s National Socialist Party. Kander and Ebb, songs include “Wilkommen”, “Maybe This Time” and the chilling “Tomorrow Belongs to Me”
