Eric Jones of the University of Maine, Machias will discuss how the diversity of floral form has long been regarded to be outstanding. What evolutionary forces are responsible for such diversity? What challenges do flowering plants face with regard to their reproductive success? Eric will explore this enigmatic diversity of floral form in the context of mating strategies employed by flowering plants cast in the light of the evolutionary histories of the lineages that exhibit them.
