For one week each March, the “City of Ships” becomes the “City of the Irish” as Bath celebrates Bath Blarney Days.


Irish Seisun, Byrnes’ Irish Pub, 38 Centre Street at 7pm.

Irish Film at Dreamland Theater, Winter Street Center, 880 Washington Street 7pm – 9pm


“More Than Blarney” Irish Cultural Evening, Irish poetry and traditional music at Bath City Hall Auditorium, 5pm – 6:30pm

Family Dance with live music, Irish Jigs and Reels on flute and fiddle at Bath Dance Works, 72 Front Street, 6:30-8pm

“Ugly Green” Contest, Mae’s Cafe, 160 Centre Street at 7pm


“Shamrock Sprint” 5K at 9am

11am – Maine’s largest St. Patricks Day Parade

1pm – Tug-O-War at City Hall sponsored by Universe Gym (Bath Wellness Center)

7-10pm – Bath’s Blarney Ball – Sagadahoc Preservation Inc. is holding Bath’s second annual Blarney Ball on Saturday, March 16th at Winter Street Center, 880 Washington Street. Tickets are $15/person. Live band, dancing, light refreshments and desserts, cash bar and door prizes.


1:30pm – Irish Soda Bread Baking Contest at Now You’re Cooking, 49 Front Street – entries must be dropped off between 11am-1pm. The judges will be looking for ingredients, appearance, texture and taste. Prizes will be awarded based on the judges’ scoring, with an extra prize awarded for the “People’s Choice”.

ALL DAY – St. Patty’s Day celebration at downtown pubs and restaurants.

ALL DAY – Live music at Byrnes Irish Pub featuring the Maine Public Safety Pipe and Drum Corps.

The celebration will be capped off with the drawing of a winner in downtown Bath’s

Pot’O Gold Passport Contest
