Farming for Clean Water Workshop on April 17

BATH, Maine — The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust and the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District are partnering to offer a workshop focused on the management practices and aid available to protect and manage water on farms. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bath City Hall Auditorium.

Topics and speakers include:

• Practice Benefits and Programming Available with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service: Jim Johnson/Paul Carmichael

• Storage Designs and the Benefits with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service: Candi Gilpatric

• Nutrient Management Law and Regulations with Maine Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation: Mark Hedrich

• Farm-A-Syst Assessment Tool with Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District: Susan Gammon
