BAR HARBOR, Maine — College of the Atlantic will open the new year with a contra dance Saturday, Jan. 5, at Gates Community Center, College off the Atlantic, 105 Eden St. The band will be Big Moose Contra Band with caller Chrissy Fowler. The evening will begin with a family dance at 6:30 p.m., and a regular dance at 8 p.m.

Dances are taught, no partner is necessary. The event is open to all.
