MACHIAS, Maine — In 2013, Machias will mark the 250th anniversary of the first settlers who came to the area, which at that time included Machias, Machiasport, East Machias, Whitneyville and Marshfield. As part of the  celebration, organizers want to establish the 250th Maine Fife and Drum Corps.

Those of all generations are invited to join the fife and drum corps. A meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the Machias Valley News Observer office, 41 Broadway.
