Singer, songwriter, storyteller, Dar Williams has had a two-decade-long music career. Joan Baez, an early fan of her husky alto voice and her music, took Williams out on the road and recorded several of her songs. Williams’s newest album, In the Time of Gods is produced by Kevin Killen, Elvis Costello’s producer, who focuses Williams’s folk sound in the pop direction with rhythm and layered harmonies.
