Children’s author to read from her works at downtown bookstore

BANGOR, Maine — As part of its 25th anniversary year, The Briar Patch will host Maine children’s author Ellen Bryan Obed of Dover-Foxcroft as she reads her newest book, “Twelve Kinds of Ice,” at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the bookstore at 27 Central St.
The event is is free and open to all. Books will be available for sale and autographing. For information, call The Briar Patch at 207-941-0255.
Ellen Bryan Obed grew up in Waterville, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine in 1969. She lived in Canada 16 years, 12 of these in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador where she taught school, researched the Labrador flora and raised her three children.
