HALLOWELL, Maine — The Harlow Gallery announces an open call for artists to submit art inspired by childhood or children’s art; or art that is whimsical, fantastical, joyful or humorous. Deadline for email submissions is midnight on March 1. PLAY will be on view April 5-27, at the Harlow Gallery at 160 Water St. in Hallowell, with an opening reception 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 5.
Gallery hours noon-6 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays; noon-8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. PLAY will be juried by a panel composed of exhibition committee member Scott King, Whitefield artist Marlene Barter, and Harlow Gallery staff members Deb Fahy & Nancy Barron.

Artists should be residents of Maine at least part of the year or otherwise have a strong connection to our state. Artists submitting from out of state are responsible for the costs of shipping work to and from the Harlow. Please note that return shipping will be actual cost plus $20 to cover staff time.  There is an entry fee of $10 for members of the Kennebec Valley Art Association or $20 for non-members; this allows each artist to submit up to 4 works of art (please note the fee is per artist not per work of art).
