Bucksport, ME – Two Bucksport High School alumni, Miles Bisher and Lindsey Gordon, are sharing their 2013 Appalachian Trail thru-hike experience with the general public at the Alamo Theatre in Bucksport, on November 17 at 6:30 PM. The event is free to the public; however, donations to the Alamo Theatre are strongly encouraged.

Bisher and Gordon thru-hiked the entire distance of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, in 5 months, from March 14 to August 14. The couple hiked 2,185.9 miles through fourteen states from Springer Mountain in northern Georgia to the highest mountain in Maine, Katahdin. While a few thousand hikers start in Georgia, only about 25% complete their thru-hike all the way to Maine.

The 2007 graduates of Bucksport High School will share their stories from the trail, discuss their gear and food choices for the trek, how to budget for a long-distance hike, and how they survived the trials of the trail and each other. A Q&A session will follow after the multimedia presentation.
