Book Event: Old Tales of the Maine Woods

Speaker: Steve Pinkham

From a collection of more than 22,000 articles and stories of the Maine Woods, author Steve Pinkham (Mountains of Maine: Intriguing Stories Behind Their Names) selected the most exciting tales of hunting and fishing, animal encounters, lumbering, canoe trips, and even a few ghost stories for his new book. The tales range from 1849 to 1913 and were written or handed down from men and women who traveled to northern Maine and wrote about their experiences in the backwoods. Join us right before Halloween to hear Steve tell a handful of the stories, and read from the book. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.
