The Cobscook Community Learning Center will welcome Bob Sawyer and his band New Start to our Third Friday Coffeehouse on May 17 at 7pm. The group plays a cross-genre mix of country, grass and folk music with Sawyer and Ronnie Gallant on bass, guitar, and mandolin, April Lee on vocals and Barbara Lapham on bass, mandolin and violin. Rob Rogers, on pedal steel guitar and guitar, may also make an appearance with the band.

Other featured performers this summer include Live Bait on Friday, June 21, and the Freemont Street Gang on July 19.

Admission for this event is by donation, which goes to the featured musician. True to form, the Coffeehouse will offer an open-mic segment for audience participants wishing to take the stage (which does include a piano). There will be coffee, tea and homemade treats for sale. The Cobscook Community Learning Center is located at 10 Commissary Point Road in Trescott. For more information, please call 733-2233 or visit www. cclc.me.
