BAR HARBOR, Maine — Bar Harbor Congregational Church began offering its gift of the Living Nativity to the community 40 years ago in 1973. This annual tradition depicts biblical characters at the time of the birth of Jesus.

To commemorate this special anniversary, three original participants, Dr. Bill Horner, Dean Booher, and Bob Chaplin, will portray The Wise Men standing in this Holy scene. They will be wearing the same costumes they wore 40 years ago verified by a photo taken by noted photographer Ed Elvidge.

The annual Living Nativity will take place 6-7:20 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 and 6, on the church steps at 29 Mount Desert St.
