BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Public Library invites the public to its New Year’s Eve Party 6-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the library.  The party is part of Bangor’s Downtown Count Down celebration.

The family friendly party will include a performance by magician Danny Baker, star shows in the Northern Stars Planetarium, a performance of “The Kitchen Sink” by Robinson Ballet, games, karaoke and lots of fun for all ages.  Those who wish may come in costume.  Prizes for outstanding costumes will be awarded throughout the evening.

Professional magician and motivational speaker, Danny A. Baker entertains family audiences with outrageous comedy tricks in a magical tour de force.  His show  will start at 6:15 p.m. in the library Lecture Hall.

Northern Stars Planetarium is an inflatable star theater that utilizes a star projector, slides, video, special effects and a sound system to introduce visitors to the night sky.  A dome spanning sixteen feet creates an artificial sky for 25 people to attend a 30-minute show. Free, advance tickets are available at the Children’s Department Circulation Desk.

Members of the Robinson Ballet will perform at 7:45 p.m. a compilation of dances with athleticism, artistry, mood, movement, poetry, emotion, imagination and unbridled joy that the company calls “The Kitchen Sink.” The performance will be in the library’s Lecture Hall.

The Library will be closed New Year’s Eve day, but will open at 6 p.m. for the New Year’s Eve party.
