The Bangor Band will be performing a public concert on Tuesday, July 3rd, 7:00 p.m., at the Bangor Veterans Home in Bangor. This is the 4th concert of the Bangor Band’s 2012 Summer Concert Series. The conductor of the Bangor Band is Dr. Fredric Goldrich.

This concert is free to the public, although donations are welcomed.

There will also be a holiday concert on Wednesday, July 4th, at 7:00 p.m, at Pickering Square in downtown Bangor, sponsored by Gross, Minsky & Mogul.

Founded in 1859, the Bangor Band is one of the oldest continuous community bands in the United States. The conductor of the Bangor Band is Dr. Fredric Goldrich.

Among the major works that will be featured at various concerts this summer will be music from “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, the “Overture to Candide” by Leonard Bernstein, selections from Henry Mancini, “Hoagy Carmichael in Concert”, the theme from “Schindler’s List”, and highlights from the Broadway musicals “Oklahoma!”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Grease”, and “Camelot”, as well as other popular tunes and marches.
