The Bangor Band will be performing the last concert of the summer season in their 2012 Summer Concert Series, on Tuesday, August 14th, at 7:00 p.m, at Pickering Square in downtown Bangor. This concert is cosponsored by Bangor Savings Bank. The conductor of the Bangor Band is Dr. Fredric Goldrich.

Admission is free, although donations are welcomed.

Founded in 1859, the Bangor Band is one of the oldest continuous community bands in the United States. Our summer concert schedule is listed on our website: www.bangorband.org

Among the major works that will be featured at various concerts this summer will be music from “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, the “Overture to Candide” by Leonard Bernstein, selections from Henry Mancini, “Hoagy Carmichael in Concert”, the theme from “Schindler’s List”, and highlights from the Broadway musicals “Oklahoma!”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Grease”, and “Camelot”, as well as other popular tunes and marches.
