Bangor Ballet announces upcoming auditions for ‘Snow White’

BANGOR, Maine — Bangor Ballet announced auditions for its spring production of “Snow White,” a newly created ballet based on the classic fairy tale. Auditions will be held Monday, Nov. 19, at Thomas School of Dance, 14 State St. Semi-advanced and advanced level dancers will audition 3:30-4:30 p.m.. Female dancers should bring pointe shoes. Auditions for all other dancers will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dancers must be at least 8 years old and have had a minimum of one full year of classical ballet training.

Most rehearsals for “Snow White” will occur on Saturday afternoons beginning Jan. 12. If cast, dancers may be needed between the audition and the first rehearsal for costuming or for publicity photos.

Performances of “Snow White” will take place at 4 p.m.  Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft; 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Brewer Performing Arts Center; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at The Grand Theatre in Ellsworth where it will be the first performance in the Family Entertainment Week series.
