Dr. Sandra Butler, professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Maine, will be the guest speaker at the Disability Peer Support Group meeting Thursday, February 7, at 5:30pm at Advanced Modifications, 2 Printer’s Drive in Hermon.

With Maine’s aging population, home care workers are becoming increasingly essential, but they also face difficult job conditions, according to recent research by Dr. Butler. She will relate some experiences and factors that cause some to leave work and others to stay. A follow-up study with older caregivers will also be discussed.

Those with physical disabilities, their families and friends, caregivers, health professionals, and the public are invited to attend. Prior to the meeting there will be a pot luck supper beginning at 5:00pm. For more information, call 945-6878 or 942-6720.
