Author Talk: Savitri Bess “The Sophia Secrets”

BAR HARBOR – Artist and author Savitri Bess will be at the Jesup Memorial Library to share her new novel, “The Sophia Secrets” on Wednesday, Feb. 6, beginning at 7 p.m.

The novel follows Anne Demaree, who moves to the Maine coast in her elder years on a quest to heal and purge her anger. That quest takes her to a Hindu temple and into the deepest recesses of her own consciousness and her heart.

The author is the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Fulbright Foundation. She has master’s degrees in counseling psychology and fiber arts. Ms. Bess is a counselor, astrologer and tapestry weaver who lives in Southwest Harbor.
