Molly Neptune Parker, Passamaquoddy at Indian Township, has been making baskets since she was 7 years old. In 2012, Parker was named a National Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts. Parker has taught all of her children and most of her grandchildren how to weave, and has taught many tribal members across the country how to practice this once endangered art form. Students in this class will have an opportunity to work with Molly and weave their own beautiful creation from start to finish. A two-day workshop (July 19 and 20 from 10 am to 4 pm), participants must attend both days in order to complete their basket. Registration required. $120 for Abbe Museum Members, $160 for Non-members (includes 1 year Abbe Museum Membership) Funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission.
