Come and enjoy a day in Woodlawn’s beautiful gardens as Linda Packard leads a workshop on the use of soft pastels workshop at Woodlawn, Friday, July 12 from 10 am to 4 pm.
In this introductory workshop, participants will experience and experiment with the overlap between painting and drawing using soft pastels on UArt paper and explore various techniques and methods of underpainting. Quick demos will be done using various techniques. The day will conclude with a gentle critique. Weather permitting, the workshop will be held in Woodlawn’s gardens. The cost for the workshop held Friday, July 12 from 10 am to 4 pm, is $135 for Woodlawn members /$145 for non-members and includes a set of 50 pastels and professional papers. A box of famous Terry Ludwig pastels will also be available to try. Participants should bring a 16 x 20 inch foam core board, drafting tape, plein air easel, workable fixative if possible, sketch pad and sketching materials, sun hat and sunscreen. Start the day with delicious coffee and scones served from 9:30 to 10 am to give participants a chance to visit Woodlawn’s gardens and meet the other students and Linda Packard. Lunch will be served and is included in the fee.
