Woodlawn is pleased to have artist Judy Taylor lead a figure drawing workshop on Tuesday, July 9, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Following the time honored tradition for art students to learn in a museum setting, artist Judy Taylor will lead the workshop in Woodlawn’s middle kitchen, offering an opportunity to draw a draped figure in a period setting.  Judy will demonstrate how to block in the scene with the figure by using shapes and pattern.  Students should be able to complete a drawing study of the narrative by the end of class and set the building blocks for a longer drawing or painting.  Essential tools of blocking in and editing will be emphasized.  In addition to being an experienced teacher, Judy has exhibited in numerous galleries throughout the States. She will be back at Woodlawn August 27th to lead a still life drawing workshop.

The cost to attend the drawing workshop scheduled on Tuesday, July 9, from 10 am to 3 pm, is $145 for Woodlawn members/$155 for non-members and includes lunch and morning snack. Participants should come equipped with a good quality sketchbook or sketchpad, two HB drawing pencils, kneaded eraser, and a pencil sharpener with well for shavings. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671.
