Woodlawn is pleased to offer a Rug Hooking Workshop at Woodlawn, July 15, 25, 29, and August 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm with Al Jenkins.

This 12-hour hands-on beginner workshop will teach you the wonderful art of rug hooking using an 8 X 13 inch mat. Participants will learn various techniques as they hook a saltbox house with an apple tree and a short fence with sky and grass background surrounded by an irregular border. The cost to attend the workshop is $155 for Woodlawn’s members/$165 for non-members and includes a simple frame, hook, precut wool, scissors and binder tape. Participants are asked to supply a spool of button or carpet thread and a heavy needle to bind the mat. The class will meet on July 15, 25, 29, and August 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671 or visit www.woodlawnmuseum.org. There is a July 5th deadline to register to allow time to order the materials.
