A concert called A Musical Cornucopia will highlight two local organists and three string players. The event, 4 p.m. Sunday, September 1, is the second of two special concerts this Fall at the Congregational Church in Perry.

Mark DeVoto and Edward French, both of Eastport, will perform works by J. S. Bach, Henry Purcell, Archangelo Corelli, Louis Vierne, Jeremiah Clarke and others. They will be assisted by the string trio composed of violinists Anna Hepler and John Widelski, both of Eastport, and cellist Chris Guida of Edmunds.

The free-standing organ was built by David Wallace of Gorham especially for the Perry church. Beginning with a smaller antique organ, he rebuilt the instrument with additional pipes, windchest, and restored original keyboard. The magnificent architectural organ case of African mahogany was built by his son, Nick. Since 2009, the instrument has delighted all who hear it.

During the concert, there will be a free-will offering to go toward the church’s organ fund. Afterwards audience members can meet the performers at a light reception. The Perry church building is located on Shore Road in Perry. For further information, contact Robb Cook, 853-6290.
