Sculpture studio tour to raise funds for international symposium

STEUBEN, Maine — A sculpture studio tour, exhibition and reception to benefit the Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium for 2014 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, at studios in Sullivan, Franklin, Steuben and Cherryfield, and a sculpture exhibition at the home of Peter and Jane Weil in Steuben. A reception will be held 3-5 p.m. The five studios and six sculptors being visited are: Obadiah Buell in Sullivan; Mark Herrington in Franklin, Hugh Lassen in Cherryfield; Kazumi Hoshino and Jesse Salisbury in Steuben; Ray Carbone in Steuben. And/ or attend the exhibition and reception with stone and wood sculptures of Peter Weil, and sculptures of the Studio sculptors, past symposium interns, and local artists. In case of rain, the reception will be held at the Henry.D. Moore Parish House and Library in Steuben. Tickets $20 for adults and free for children, and may be purchased at any tour or exhibition site for any part or all of the tour and exhibition event. Brochures with a map will be available at galleries, chambers of commerce and other public places in early July.  www.schoodicsculpture.org or contact Donna Salisbury at 546-2135.
