MDI Lions Club – Acadia Triathlon. October 6 2012; 12:00AM to 11:59PM
Individuals or teams are welcome to sign up now for the annual Mount Desert Island Lions Club – Acadia Triathlon. The event happens on October 6th, 2012, with a 9:30am start.
Pre-race instructions happen at 9:00am. The location of the event is at national Park Canoe Rental, Ponds End, at Great Long Pond. This is about 1.4 miles west of Somesville on Route 102. All race segments will start and finish at Ponds end.
Race day registration will also happen from 7:30am – 8:45am.
Race Features: Teams are limited to 100. One free 1-shirt for each participant! Race packet pick up is on race day at Ponds End between 7:30 and 8:45am. Post race food and refreshment table for participants is available.
The MDI Lions and Lioness Clubs will also sell food at the race site. Restrooms and changing facilities are available on site. Showers are available at the MDI YMCA, but please identify yourself as a race participant when arriving at the front desk at the MDI YMCA.
Other important information:
*Team awards are by division only. No age groups.
*No duplication of awards (one award per person).
*Double ended paddles only in kayak category.
*Recreational canoes only in family, business or municipal challenge divisions.
Teams may be 2 or 3-4 members of male, female, mixed
OR Family, Business, Municipal, High School Recreational (canoes or kayaks), 1st and 2nd
Early entries received by 9/21 are $30 per person.
Entries received after 9/21 are $35 per person.
