Troy farmer, author and itinerant Quaker minister Jennifer Wixson signs copies of her new novel, “Peas, Beans & Corn” (Book 2 in The Sovereign Series), Sat. July 6th, 1-3 p.m. at BookStacks, 71 Main St., Bucksport. The novel centers around a Maine Army Guardsman who returns to his hometown of Sovereign with the secret dream of restarting the town’s defunct sweet corn canning factory. The novel, which continues the saga Wixson began in Book 1, “Hens & Chickens,” is a love story and also a trip through a part of Maine’s now largely forgotten past, the sweet corn industry. For nearly 100 years Maine was queen of the industry, and Wixson’s characters revisit some of those glory days. “Peas, Beans & Corn” (White Wave, June 29, 2013) will be available at most local bookstores, at Amazon, and B&N. For more about The Sovereign Series or to order an autographed copy visit www.theSovereignSeries.com. For more information on the book signing contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
