Winter fun activities for the whole family will be happening at the Pottle Tree Farm in Perry on Saturday, February 15th! The day will begin at 10 A.M with a cross-country ski race at 10:30 A.M. (weather permitting) as well as skiing on miles of open trails. There will also be skating, snowshoeing, ice fishing, sledding, a scavenger hunt and igloo making.
The day will benefit Stronghearts, a Perry based foundation which promotes awareness of Congenital Heart Defects and raises funds for families affected by CHDs. This past year Stronghearts donated $2,000 to Camp Meridian, a camp for children with congenital heart defects and helped a local family caring for a child who had heart surgery.
There will also be a fireside potluck as part of the day. Bring food that hold up in cold weather such as finger food, bread, chili or soup, salad or cookies. We are grateful to the area merchants for their support.
The Outdoor Adventure Center at WCCC will provide free cross-country skis, snowshoes and skates.
There is no admission charge. Event T-shirts, backpacks and mugs are available for donations of $10. Donations go to Stronghearts in their effort to support families affected by Congenital Heart Defects.
The Winter Sports and Fun Day will be held no matter what the weather is.
