Wellness Connection of Maine announces three new hires

Christopher Tolford, C.P.A, joins the Wellness Connection of Maine, where his role will be Controller. Most recently, Tolford, was a supervisor with Macpage, an accounting firm with offices in South Portland, Augusta and Framingham, Massachusetts. Tolford earned his degree in Economics from the University of Rhode Island.He is a Certified Public Accountant in Maine. He and his wife reside in Cumberland. Tolford is an active volunteer with PROPEL and the Maine Red Claws Young Leader Program.

Danielle Porter joins the Wellness Connection of Maine as Director of Human Resources. Porter has five years of experience in the human resources field, most recently working as the manager of marketing and human resources at a biochemistry firm in Boston. Porter will be responsible for employee relations, workers compensation, safety, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Jeff McElroy, Ph.D joined the Wellness Connection of Maine as the Director of Production Operations, where he will focus on overseeing facilities, personnel, systems and budgets related to the production and distribution of qualified medical marijuana on behalf of WCM. Dr. McElroy brings extensive agricultural and horticultural experience as the former Vice President of Backyard Farms in Madison, Maine. Dr. McElroy is a Harvard University graduate with extensive experience breeding produce and fruit all over the globe. He is an accomplished strategist in establishing cooperative breeding models and marketing new, hybrid varietals in emerging markets. Dr. McElroy lives in North Yarmouth with his wife, Laura and daughter, Silvia.
