The snow and cold of winter are a fading memory and spring has arrived.

It’s already mid May and the the days are getting longer and warmer.

Out of state license plates have also arrived and are starting to appear around Lubec and surrounding areas.

Today alone I’ve seen Pennsylvania, Kansas, New York, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Florida plates in town.

Walk in traffic at local gift shops, botiques and eateries is starting to pick up.

Bed and Breakfasts and motels are welcoming the influx of newcomers.

Visitors with backpacks and cameras, a few bikers and runners are increasingly evident.

At Quoddy Head State Park the cars coming and going are predominately from out of state now.

The empty park trails of late fall and winter’s off season are now seeing hikers and tourists explore their beauty.

The West Quoddy Head Lighthouse visitors center will soon be greeting visitors and sharing its rich history with tourists from distant locations.

How great for this downeast area of Maine having so many visitors to our unique location.

If Quoddy Head State Park is not on your travel destination list this year, it should be.

It’s not the end of the world,….but you can almost see it from here.

Heres a few images of what you will see when you come.

Enjoy your visit.
