Views from Quoddy Head State Park

A moon rise at Quoddy Head State Park is often an overlooked event.

Visitors who do come get to see a seemingly over sized orange orb as it lifts slowly above the Bay of Fundy horizon. If sky conditions are favorable scattered clouds can and often do dramatize the moonlit seascape experience.

Something I have noticed, following a moon rise, everyone departs rather quickly, for them it’s over, time to leave, move on to other interests elsewhere.

For a photographer though it is the exact opposite, imaging opportunities are just beginning, it’s time to stay, not leave. Moonlight presents an entirely different set of challenges for us to create unique and stunning images. Photographically there’s a whole other identity to Quoddy Head State Park on this kind of night.

Attached are several images portraying various photographic aspects relating to the moon at Quoddy.

Wouldn’t it be nice if a couple of these images inspired you to come, visit and see for yourself this beautiful destination in down east Washington county.

Till next installment, I hope you like the views from Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec, Maine.

When you do visit though, please come down to this place and enjoy a moon rise,……and,……plan on staying just a little bit longer.
