PORTLAND, Maine — Verrill Dana is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Riotte, née LeBlanc, to its Business and Corporate Group. Riotte’s practice will focus on securities law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and related matters. She will be resident in the firm’s Portland office.
Prior to joining Verrill Dana, Riotte practiced in the Cleveland office of Baker Hostetler, where she gained experience in asset and stock acquisitions, mergers, spin-offs and corporate financings; regularly assisted public companies with securities law filings and corporate governance matters; advised companies in connection with shareholder proposals and other proxy contests; and worked extensively on complex securities law issues under Section 16, Regulation 13D and Rule 144.
Riotte earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she served as editor-in-chief of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. She earned her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Tufts University.
A native of Yarmouth, Riotte is happy to have returned to Maine with her husband, Sam, and their two young daughters.
