Vera Frances, Passamoquoddy poet, artist, activist, and educator, will give a unique and authentic performance stemming from traditional Wabanaki transformer storytelling. This performance is a presentation of the Concert Series, a constituent group of the Eastport Arts Center. A resident of Perry, Maine, on the Pleasant Point (Sipayik) Reservation, Vera Francis is an advocate for the cultural and environmental preservation of The People of the Dawn. Francis aims to transport her audience to another time and place though a deep history of oral tradition, passed along by her grandmother, and the use of creative costuming, characters, and presentation.

Admission is $10, free for 18 and under. A reception will follow with refreshments courtesy of The Rose Garden. The Eastport Arts Center is located at 36 Washington Street in Eastport.
