PORTLAND, Maine — Join Dr. Libby Bischof, associate professor of history at the University of Southern Maine, to learn how to research with historic photographs, an important primary source for historic and genealogical research. Bischof will start the program with a brief lecture, followed by a hands-on workshop in the museum and library collections in the Brown Library. A teacher workshop will take place at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Maine Historical Society, 489 Congress St. It is free to Maine teachers, $15 out-of-state teachers. Register online.
A workshop open to the public will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12. The cost is $15 Maine Historical Society members, $25 others. Register online.
Each workshop is limited to 15 participants.
