Update of coastal corridor plan slated for June 19

MACHIAS, Maine — A public meeting for the Washington County portion of the Downeast Coastal Corridor Management Plan update will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in 232 Torrey Hall at the University of Maine at Machias.

The meeting is optional for those who took part in the advisory committee work sessions, as the presentation will summarize the decision-making process and priorities that the advisory committee established during its discussions. All of the documents and proceedings from the advisory committee meetings can be viewed online at http://www.wccog.net/downeast-coastal-corridor-update.htm .

Additional feedback from the public meeting will be incorporated into the draft final report, which will be circulated to everyone on this mailing list (after it is incorporated with the Hancock County portion of the plan) for an additional round of feedback.

The agenda for Thursday’s public meeting is:

1.  Call to order and introductions (5 minutes)

2.  Overview of transportation system changes and trends since 2009 (20 minutes)

3.  Scenario updates recommended by advisory committee (20 minutes)

4.  Goal and strategy updates recommended by advisory committee (20 minutes)

5.  Adjournment

The meeting is open to the public.
