On Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30pm in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, author and photographer Mary Quinn Doyle of West Newfield, Maine will give a free presentation about her “Unique Maine Farms” educational outreach project, a volunteer project she began nearly three years ago to promote Maine’s unique agricultural pursuits. She traveled throughout the state visiting over 200 farms and in September 2014, the 296-page book about the farms was released, printed in Maine on Maine produced paper. Books will be available for purchase at this program.

In conjunction with this presentation, there is an exhibit of Doyle’s photographs from the book in the Library’s Kramer Gallery and the Belfast Co-op Café through March.

The Unique Maine Farms’ project has collaborated with the Maine State Library to see that every town, city and college library in Maine receives a complimentary copy of “Unique Maine Farms.”
