UNION, Maine — The first Union Farmers’ Market will be held 3-6 p.m. Friday, May 23, on the Union Common.
Every week will have a special theme–May 23 is “Birds & Bees: it all starts here!” In addition to the regular lineup of vendors with meat, dairy, woodenware, produce & baked goods, we’ll have guests with bees & bee houses, Sharon Turner’s special plants for birds & some beautiful poultry to admire. Need a birdhouse? We have that too! New this year is Ace Bladelove, to sharpen all your tools & knives; bring something for him to work on.
We also welcome the Midcoast Spinners, with information about plants to use for dyeing; our guest musician, Randy Rickard from Union, will entertain us with some hummin’ good oldies–country, folk & early rock! And don’t forget the wood-fired pizza.
Guest vendors are invited to join us throughout the season; see unionfarmersmarket.org or call 845-2209 for details. We also have a few open spots for musicians.
(Sneak peek at May 30th-“Seeds of the Season” and free pumpkin seedlings for kids…pumpkin show in October!)
