FORT KENT, Maine — The University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic department will offer a weeklong day co-ed soccer and basketball camps this summer. Registration is open to children entering kindergarten through eighth grades.
The Bengal co-ed soccer camp will be held from July 7-10. Daily soccer sessions will be split into age groups with the kindergarten through grade three going in the morning session from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Grades four through eight will attend the session from 9 a.m. to noon. For campers entering grades K-3 the cost is $40 and for grades 4-8 the cost is $60 per camper.
The Bengal co-ed basketball camp runs Monday, July 14-17. Daily times for the basketball sessions for kindergarten through grade three will be from 9am to 10:30 a.m. Grades four through eight will attend the session from 9 a.m. to noon. For campers entering grades K-3 the cost is $40 and for grades 4-8 the cost is $60 per camper.
In-depth and individualized instruction in an extremely competitive, fun environment will be offered during both camps.
Both camps will feature experienced college and high school coaches and players who will work closely with campers, stressing fundamentals and improvement of skills. Guest lectures, demonstrations, contests, and games will round out the week-long camp.
The camps continue to be popular with local residents as well as visitors who spend their summers in the Valley.
