The Student Support Services TRiO program at UMFK has recently moved its office location and now works more closely with the office of Student Success and the Career Planning and Internship Placement office.

All three offices are located on the second floor of Powell Hall, adjacent the Blake Library, in the heart of the UMFK campus. The three offices are working together as the campus’ newly formed Learning Center to increase collaboration and expand on the types of services offered, thereby providing even greater support to UMFK students.

TRiO Project Director Lena Michaud states, “We are very excited to kick-off the new school year in our new space in Powell Hall. Our main purpose is to increase college retention and graduation rates by offering a variety of academic, career and personal services.”

The Student Support Services TRiO program at UMFK serves 160 students as they pursue their academic, personal, and career goals. The Student Support Services TRiO program is designed to improve academic performance, increase student motivation, persistence, and retention rates.
