Trekkers will offer its third annual Trekkers Week program from October 15th to 19th for 7th grade students at St. George School. Led by Program Manager Emily Carver, this fun-filled week will give students a chance to experience a sneak preview of life as a Trekker, where they will participate in activities similar to the ones that are part of Trekkers’ six-year core programming. “Trekkers Week is an incredible way to do what we love to do–connect kids with each other and with the caring adults in their community while getting them outside the experience of their everyday routine,” said Carver.
Monday will kick off the five-day, action-packed week on the climbing wall at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro. Students will also snap photos of the fall foliage during a “mini-Photo Treks” excursion on Clark Island, have an opportunity to volunteer in their community, and take to the bowling lanes at Oakland Park Lanes in Rockport. There will also be plenty of Trekkers-style games to close out the week.
Trekkers will be offering 7th grade students from Thomaston Grammar School and Rockland District Middle School an opportunity to take part in a similar Trekkers Week in January. The 40 available core program spots will be opening for 7th graders after the New Year, and will be available to students living in the communities of Regional School Unit #13.
