Travel with the University of Maine Black Bears to Alaska

Posted Aug. 27, 2014, at 3:05 p.m.

A group of community volunteers is raising funds for the benefit of children in Maine battling cancer and other blood disorders. Eastern Maine Medical Center Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer & Treatment Center in Brewer, Maine, which opened in December 2012, is one of just two pediatric oncology centers in Maine, serving children and young adults from central, eastern, and northern Maine. The center was designed with input from patients and their families, and brings all of EMMC’s outpatient pediatric oncology and hematology services under one roof.

The group has put together a once-in-a-lifetime trip: You could travel with the University of Maine Black Bears to Alaska and watch two exciting, world class college hockey games as Maine takes on Anchorage and Fairbanks. Enter to win this incredible prize package that includes round trip air fare for two from Portland, Maine to Anchorage, Alaska – courtesy of Bangor Travel. Two seats at each UMaine hockey game October 10th vs. Anchorage & October 11th vs Fairbanks – provided by UMaine Hockey Coach Red Gendron. Additionally, you’ll be treated like rock stars at a UMaine Hockey Team meet & greet and be provided meals, lodging & ground transportation while in Alaska.

You need to act now – limited tickets are available. To learn more (requested donation of $20 each or 3 tickets for $50) contact lead volunteers Chris Popper 941-1994 or Doug Quagliaroli 745-2402. The drawing for this exciting Black Bear Hockey Package will be held on September 4, 2014 (you need not be present to win).
