Third annual blood drive and fundraiser in honor of organ donor, C.J. Twomey

Posted April 11, 2013, at 1 p.m.

On Monday April 15 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Lost Valley Ski Resort in Auburn a special event will be held to honor C.J. Twomey. Christopher “C.J.” Twomey became an organ donor after his unexpected death in April of 2010. The event, which will be held on the anniversary of his death, will honor CJ’s memory but also celebrate his life, the life of his grandfather, a heart transplant recipient, and the gift of life he was able to give as an organ donor.

The event will be an opportunity to give blood with the American Red Cross and participate in a raffle with fantastic prizes. All donations will benefit the New England Organ Bank to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation.

Event coordinator and C.J’s mother, Hallie Twomey is available for interviews upon request. Please email laura_dempsey@neob.org for more information.

There are currently over 117,000 individuals waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. Learn more by visiting www.DonateLifeNewEngland.org.
