Fighting cancer is a tough job and not one that anybody should do alone. To that end, Waldo County General Hospital has put in place a Cancer Education and Support Group. The group is for adults with cancer and their families and friends.

You are invited to come share your wisdom and experiences with other survivors and people who care, while learning more about how you can live better with cancer.

The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the third floor conference room at the Belfast Free Library (note the new location). You are encouraged to come even if you cannot get there by 4:45 p.m.

The group is facilitated by social worker, Margie Spencer-Smith LCSW, and patient navigator, Kim Lenfestey, MSW. Confidentiality will be respected for all participants. It helps to have a safe place to express feelings and share successes and hardships.

There is no charge for this group and registration is not required. For more information, call 930-2500 ext. 4795 or email: msamith@wcgh.org or klenfestey@wcgh.org.
