Beavers are awesome engineers of nature.

The granite stairs lead to the creek. Climbers are asked to stick to the marked trails.

Looking down on Duck Brook Creek from bridge.

Beautiful arch. All bridges are noted for their arches in Acadia National Park.

This arch over Duck Brook maybe a scenic spot to make a promise to someone you love.
From early Spring to late Fall many hikers and cyclists tend to congregate at the Duck Brook Bridge in Acadia National Park. It is a fascinating place to meet visitors. I had the occasion to meet a two travelers who had ridden their bicycles from the Los Angles area to Acadia National Park. Their trip turned out to be interesting, if not daring, as they wheeled and camped the entire trip. A small crowd of ten or so gathered around as the cyclists who answered questions as they told stories about their adventures. Text and photos by Joe Palmer
