SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine — In the coming months, the Southwest Harbor Public Library will be offering a “Technology Petting Zoo” to patrons.

E-books and tablets are growing in popularity and devices are widely available with many different types from which to choose. For the purpose of providing hands-on familiarization and training with e-readers and tablets, the Maine State Library has created a “Technology Petting Zoo” of devices.

Southwest Harbor Public Library will hold four one-hour “Zoo” Sessions in October from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursdays, Oct. 17 and 24, including Google Nexus 7 and Apple iPad mini tablets.

Later in the fall the Library will be offering more sessions with the following devices:  Nook SimpleTouch (e-reader), Nook HD+ (tablet), Kindle Fire (tablet), and Kindle PaperWhite (e-reader).

We have limited devices, so registration is a must. Please call the Library to register or for more information, 244-7065.
