T3’s Bow Ties and Bean Boots to raise funds to support Maine teens

Posted July 10, 2014, at 3:57 p.m.

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Summer is halfway over and August will be here before we know it. Teens To Trails would love to formally invite you to send off the summer with a bang at Bow Ties and Bean Boots, Teens To Trails’ inaugural lawn party benefit on August 28 at Camp Ketcha in Scarborough. Teens To Trails will be celebrating seven years of support for Maine high school Outing Clubs while raising money to support T3’s mission of increasing outdoor opportunities for Maine teens.

Teens To Trails began in 2006 with a belief that every Maine high school student deserved and needed an outdoor opportunity as part of their high school experience. Through the hard work of volunteers and the support of grants, T3 has reached over 35,000 young Mainers since it began. Bow Ties & Bean Boots both celebrates the achievements of T3 thus far and will provide the foundation for T3 to continue to expose Maine teens to a happier and healthier lifestyle the Maine outdoors provides.

Bow Ties and Bean Boots is T3’s first large fundraising event. Sponsored by LL Bean, BT and BB gives our Maine community the chance to support outdoor experiences for teens while enjoying a beautiful summer night in Southern Maine. Bow Ties and Bean Boots will feature an auction, including items like an LL Bean camping package, a Sugarloaf ski and stay package, a Lincoln Canoe and Kayak custom-made kayak, island stays, hut vacations, and beautiful Maine artwork. There will be lawn games and live music throughout the night and some of our favorite food trucks, Maine-ly Burgers and El Corazon, will be serving hearty local fare. The event is 21+ as guests will be enjoying a cash bar.

Bow Ties and Bean Boots will take place 6-10 p.m. August 28 at Camp Ketcha on Black Point Road in Scarborough. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased on the Teens To Trails website (teenstotrails.org/benefit). Make sure to pick out a snazzy bow tie and pull your Bean boots out of your closet because this is a benefit you won’t want to miss!

Teens To Trails is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization engaging Maine teens in the outdoors. T3’s goal is to establish an Outing Club in every Maine high school community, thereby promoting fun outdoor adventures, healthy lifestyles, and environmental stewardship.
